Scheme Overview & Benefits
A dedicated welfare scheme by the Animal Husbandry Department of Gujarat designed for Schedule Caste (SC) farmers and cattle rearers to adopt sustainable natural agriculture. The scheme provides a 35% capital subsidy, capped at ₹28,000/-, on the purchase of two local indigenous cows (Gir/Kankrej). The initiative empowers SC farmers with dual benefits: generating regular household income through pure A2 milk sales and utilizing domestic cow dung/urine to replace costly chemical fertilizers with natural bio-formulations.
Eligibility Criteria
Schedule Caste (SC) farmers of Gujarat holding a valid caste certificate and completion certificate of certified Natural Farming training conducted by the ATMA project office. Beneficiaries must complete cow purchase through RBI-approved bank loans for 2026-27 or self-financing after official sanction.
